So another crazy, busy week. It's so close to conference time, and with that, comes much more tasks that need to be done. It seems like finally all the pieces are starting to fit together here at the office, with me finding a place and feeling like part of the group. I like being able to make myself useful, and lately, I've been able to do just that. I was given some things to do that they normally wouldn't give to interns: transcribing three interviews, which was tedious and frustrating because I kept rewinding the interviews all the way back to the beginning instead of just a few seconds back; and I edited/revised bios for the independent artists performing at the conference this week. Apparently, this was the first year he (David Mitchell) didn't have to do it, and I was told I did a really great job with it and it took a lot of pressure off him. I also went in on Saturday to help stuff bags for the conference.
It's an amazing thing to know that because of all the effort I'm putting in, I can see the payoff. I'm gaining more responsibilities and they come to me when they need something done because they know I'll get it done. That's the type of person I am, and that's what I hoped I'd be able to show them.
The conference is just 2 days away and... I don't even know what all I'm going to have to talk about next week. But until then.... I'm out.
