Paul Marshall- Warner Music Group- Week 7

What a week it was.

I was also involved in several pitches for TV & Film. I'm limited to what I can tell you, but I'm waiting for the scene in Transformers II when Bumblebee plays songs on his radio. I also have been reorganizing the music vault. With downtime comes a lot of reading. I'm constantly searching industry magazines looking for opportunities for WMG licensing. It feels good to approach your boss with a lead on something solid. It's great motivation to keep up with industry publications.

I found that it's very helpful to communicate with the creatives and deal-makers in the office, several of our clients WILL NOT license anything. Ever. Regardless. It's frustrating knowing that you have the perfect song for a project, and your artist won't even consider it. Such is business. Deal-makers and creatives are great people to keep in the loop of my pitches, because they have worked with many artists in the past.

I am fortunate enough to be involved in several graphics projects, including Frank Sinatra and Erasure. I enjoy being known as creative.

It's been sultry in the valley the last few days. I'm going home for a few days next week & looking forward to seeing snow, more-so friends and family, but snow too.

Here are my five tracks that I was into this week:
1. Clint Mansell/Kronos Quartet/Mogwai- Tree Of Life!
2. Static X- Sweat Of The Bud
3. Muse- Muscle Museum
4. Amon Tobin- Like Regular Chickens
5. The Chemical Brothers- Do It Again
