Paul Marshall- Warner Music Group Week 6

This week started off with a hectic Tuesday morning, preparing for a lunch-time Chris Isaak listening session. I filled in for LH- assistant to the TV creative, and also the Film/Trailer creative this week. Talk about hands on. Chris Isaak was amazing, and even more amazing at such a personal level. The event took place at Warner Brothers Records, a really beautiful building with a strange MN feel to it. Log siding, fireplaces, almost rustic. Chris played solo acoustic in front of a series of large windows, and about 30 of us were able to be there. He's been with WB since 1984, and shared many stories of Dean Martin, Irving Azoff and others. Cool dude. Of course he played stuff off his new album & hits like the classic "Wicked Game." By far the coolest experience so far...

This week was chaos at times. I enjoyed it.

The Oscars are today, and Hollywood is crazy. We are all expecting business to pick up exponentially after the oscars are done. This next week I'm filling in for the assistant again, as she's filling in for the Film/trailer creative.

I'm starting my own Volk-esque track report; Here's my top Warner-owned tracks that I can't put down:
1. Chris Isaak- Wicked Game, from Heart Shaped World 1989
2. Justice- Waters Of Nazareth, from A Cross The Universe 2008
3. Dan Auerbach- The Prowl, from Keep It Hid 2009
4. Bill Frisell- White Fang, from Unspeakable 2004
5. Bloc Party- Ares, from Intimacy 2008

So Long!
